Ford Transit Windshield Replacement
The windshield replacement went smoothly and was performed by a single technician. The handoff between Geico and Safelite was anything but smooth.
- The broken windshield was reported to Geico on January 9, 2020. Informed that Geico would call to schedule a windshield replacement we waited.
- After a week with no call, we called left a message
- Another few days we called left a second message adding “what happens if this windshield fails entirely?”..this time they called back
- We selected Safelite and they said someone would call to schedule an appointment
- The call was not returned, we called again
- Finally Safelite called and scheduled a replacement for one week later
- The day of the install arrives and we are informed that the technician will need a second person to help due to the size of the windshield. Install was scheduled for about a week and a half later, February 9, 2020
- A single technician arrived, installed the windshield, calibrated the front-facing video camera, the time required: 2 hours
- Geico paid Safelite for the install, $0 out of pocket

- We’ll need at least five feet of space on all sides of your vehicle to complete your service.
- If your vehicle is parked in a covered location, such as a garage, the ceiling height must be at least seven feet.
